The Putnam County R-I Schools Board of Education is thrilled to announce the selection of Mrs. Jonnie Beavers as the district's next Superintendent of Schools. Mrs. Beavers will officially step into her new role on July 1, 2025, following the retirement of Dr. Heath Halley, who has served with distinction since 2004.

  • A Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from William Woods University

  • A Master’s in Educational Administration from William Woods University

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement and K-12 Art Education certification from Graceland University

Mrs. Beavers’ career in education spans over 20 years, including 14 years as a teacher before moving into administrative roles. Over the past six years, she has excelled as a Superintendent at a rural Missouri school district. Her previous leadership experience also includes serving as:

  • Federal Programs Director

  • Special Education Director

  • Transportation Director

  • Elementary Principal

Mrs. Beavers and her husband, Keith, live on their family farm in Northern Missouri with their two sons, Grady (14) and Tate (17). She has a deep connection to the values and traditions that make rural schools like Putnam County R-I special and is eager to bring her experience and vision to the district.

Mrs. Beavers shared, "I am thrilled and honored to serve as the Superintendent at Putnam County R-I. I look forward to being part of the Putnam County R-I family and continuing in their successes and traditions to achieve great things together."

As we celebrate this exciting new chapter, we also recognize the incredible legacy of Dr. Heath Halley, whose leadership has been instrumental in the growth and success of Putnam County R-I Schools for the past 20 years. Dr. Halley will retire on November 30, 2024, and his contributions will leave a lasting impact on our district and community.

Mrs. Beavers was selected after a rigorous interview process. The Board of Education is confident that her expertise, leadership, and dedication will be an asset to our district as we continue striving for excellence in education.

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Jonnie Beavers to the Putnam County R-I family! 💙
