Bailey Diveley Signs with North Central Missouri College to Run Track

Posted Date: 4/24/25 (4:16 PM)

On April 23, 2025, Putnam County High School senior Bailey Diveley signed her National Letter of Intent to join the very first track and field team at North Central Missouri College. The signing, held in the PCHS Library, was a proud moment for Bailey, her family, her coaches, and all who have cheered her on throughout her high school career.

Bailey discovered her love for running early in life during a pacer test in elementary school. Her talent for distance running was clear, and despite a limited middle school track experience due to COVID, she fully embraced the sport in high school. "I realized how much I loved the environment of track. Distance runners are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet," Bailey shared.

Her journey at Putnam County wasn’t always easy, but it was meaningful. "It’s been hard balancing it all, but worth every second. I’ve learned to keep going even when it’s tough," she said. Her coaches and teammates made a lasting impact, both on and off the track.

Choosing NCMC was an easy decision for Bailey. Coach Mike Witten made her feel confident in the process, and the support from the college sealed the deal. "I’m so excited to be part of their first track team. The college is relaxed and helpful, and the admissions process went smoothly,” she said.

Bailey also shared some advice for younger athletes: "Don’t let outside factors get in your head. Focus on what you can control."

When asked what she’ll miss most, Bailey said, “Definitely the people. I’ll miss the way the whole community cheers each other on. Even people who aren’t family always stop to talk and tell me how proud they are."

We are incredibly proud of Bailey Diveley and her journey. We know she’ll do amazing things at North Central Missouri College. Congratulations, Bailey! #PutnamProud #PutnamToPirate #GRC
