Staff Member of the Month: Ms. Jacquie Tosspon – High School ELA Teacher🏆

At Putnam County High School, we believe in recognizing students and staff who lead with heart, serve with integrity, and make our school community a better place. During our April 2025 Character Education Assembly, we proudly honored four outstanding individuals who exemplify the values we hold dear at PCHS.

Selected by the PCHS Student Council, Ms. Tosspon was recognized for the kindness, empathy, and safe space she creates in her classroom. Known for her deep connections with students, she encourages them to be themselves without fear of judgment.
"Just by reading the Senior Spotlights, it’s clear Ms. Tosspon is someone who helps students feel seen, heard, and accepted. Her positivity and care don’t go unnoticed, and we are grateful for the impact she makes every single day."

💙 Character Education Winner – April Trait: Forgiveness

This month’s character trait was Forgiveness – clearing the record of those who have wronged me and not holding a grudge.
Walter Hartwig was chosen for this award because he consistently models the ability to forgive and move forward without bitterness. His calm demeanor and gracious nature set a strong example for his classmates.
"Walter is quick to forgive when things don’t go his way, and that’s a powerful life skill. His quiet strength and respectful attitude do not go unnoticed."
