Hey, Putnam County R-I Community! September is here, and around Putnam County, you know what that means… it’s almost Putnam County Fair Week! 🎟️🐮🐷✨
📅 REMINDER: NO SCHOOL SEPTEMBER 7–11, 2026
Putnam County R-I Schools will not be in session due to Labor Day and the Putnam County Fair.
Fair week is about so much more than rides and funnel cakes. It’s a chance to see just how talented, hardworking, and involved our young people are! 💙
Students of all ages have been putting in countless hours preparing 4-H and FFA projects, working with livestock, competing for 4-H and Putnam County Fair Royalty, volunteering, serving our community, and much more. Even our PCHS Building Trades students have put their construction skills to work helping prepare for this year’s fair!
And this year’s theme couldn’t be more fitting:

There are SO many ways to support our students throughout the week. Stop by and check out their exhibits. Cheer for them during the Queen Contest. Root for them in the show ring. Support our volunteers. And on Saturday…you might want to keep a spare set of clothes handy for the Rowdy Valentine Memorial Greased Pig Contest! 🐷😂
The action doesn’t stop at the fairgrounds, either! 🏈🥎⛳🏃‍♀️ We’ll have football, softball, golf and cross country competitions along with middle and high school practices happening throughout the week.
🇺🇸 FRIDAY NIGHT = RED, WHITE & BLUE! 🇺🇸
Take a break from the fair Friday evening and join us at Dave Mitchell Field to cheer on the Midgets for our season home opener! Wear your red, white and blue, pack the stands, and be ready to cheer for our football team while also supporting our PCHS Band and Color Guard during their performances. 🎺🏈
From the show ring to the football field, there’s a whole lot to be #PutnamProud of next week.
We hope you’ll get out, support our kids, visit with your neighbors, enjoy the fair and take in some fall sports along the way. We can’t wait to see our Putnam County community out and about! 💙🤍
