Krysten Jarman is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. She has earned her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and National Certified Counselors. Krysten is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a trauma-based treatment known for treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health disorders. Krysten is also trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, which is a trauma-play-based treatment for children under the age of 6 years, and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy). Krysten enjoys furthering her knowledge and continuing her education through training to better serve the needs of her clients and has several other training courses that she has completed. 

Currently, Krysten is a school-based therapist, working with adolescents with behaviors and mental health needs at Putnam County and Schuyler County. Previous to becoming a PLPC, Krysten completed her Bachelors in Human Services from Kaplan University, which led her to work with physical abuse clients. Krysten decided to further her education to put forth more help to those in need by completing her Masters in Mental Health Counseling. During this time she was credentialed through the state as a MAADC II, and assisted both adult and adolescent clients with Substance Use Disorders.

Krysten believes that at some point in our lives, everyone needs extra help and support. She believes that providing support and working on resolving issues that the clients face, can be the growth they need. She believes that it is not about changing the person, but rather growing within to be a better you.

Krysten was born in Iowa but has lived in Unionville, Missouri her whole life. Krysten and her husband love to be outdoors riding their side by side, traveling to new places, and spending time with her 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
She has been at PFH since 2018, and prior to working in schools, she worked in substance use. This will be her 3rd year working in the schools during therapy and she will be getting her full license in January.
Lastly, as I said above, PFH (Krysten Jarman) offers counseling services here at the school during school hours so the student does not have to miss school - double bonus!
